The Malankara Orthodox Church Prayer Group Association (MOCPA)
The Malankara Orthodox Church Prayer Group Association (MOCPA) has been constituted to monitor and streamline the prayer and reading habits of the congregation in different prayer groups functioning in various parishes under the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.
The objective of this group is to promote Faith, Love and Care for the Church, and brotherhood, and to bring about the spiritual, material, and educational upliftment of the people.
A unit consists of 20–30 families. All men, women, and children from these families can participate in these meetings. Once a week (preferably on Sunday), the prayer meeting can be conducted at a convenient time in different houses or in a common place.
Each unit has the Vicar of the parish as its President and should have a Secretary and a Treasurer to maintain the credit and debit accounts as well as the reports. Once every three months, a common meeting, as directed by the Vicar, is to be convened with the General Secretary overseeing the conduct of the meeting.
The Prayer Group Association, in its entirety, is expected to aid the church community in experiencing the divine love and care of God towards humanity. The Godly love, care, and compassion transmitted to the believers through their prayerful experiences inspire the Church. This pioneer spiritual organization of the Church, with more than five thousand units, extends across the world, enhancing the grace of God and spiritual enthusiasm.
